Located in the Grand Oasis Cancun, The White Box is a gastrobar created by Chef Rafael Zafra; who, among his many accomplishments, worked alongside Chef Ferran Adria as part of the remarkable team behind five times best restaurant in the world, El Bulli. At The White Box, Chef Zafra has developed a menu – that takes inspiration from the many Michelin-starred restaurants he has worked in – to be enjoyed in a more relaxed and informal atmosphere, a characteristic of the hotel in which it is situated.
The White Box forms part of a gastronomic movement that gained popularity in Spain in 2008,where several Michelin starred chefs began transporting their culinary expertise to more laidback surroundings; providing high quality food to a wider audience. These establishments became known as gastrobars.
