4 Places to visit in the Riviera Maya

The Riviera Maya is a tourist zone of great charm and length located in the Yucatan Peninsula; get to know four of the main tourist attractions that you can’t miss during your trip to this magical place.

1. Tulum’s Ruins:

These ruins date back to the year 564, and are part of the most emblematic ruins of the area. They have a temple, a castle, columns and murals of the Mayan culture, which contrast with the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea.

The ruins are open to the public from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00pm at an approximate cost of 70 Mexican pesos.

 

2. Chichen-Itzá:

One of the seven wonders of the modern world, this archeological site was a city and a ceremonial center of the Mayan civilization. A castle or central pyramid, the ball court and various temples compose it.

The entrance is open to the public from Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 am to 5:00pm, and has an approximate cost of 70 Mexican pesos.

 

3. Xcaret

With more than fifty natural and cultural attractions, this park is the perfect place to spend a day of fun, soaking up in the Mayan culture and falling in love with Mexico.

Open all year round from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm and suitable for all ages, in Xcaret you can explore underground rivers, enjoy the wonderful views of the Rainforest and relax on the beach among other activities.

4. Natural Reserve of Sian Ka’an:

Close to the city of Tulum the largest protected area of the Mexican Caribbean exists. With 120km of extension, the Sian Ka’an biosphere contains beaches, jungle, reefs and cenotes in which you can find an amazing amount of flora and fauna.

The tickets have an approximate price of 50 Mexican pesos, and guided tours are available for hiring to make the most of the experience.
